LaVere would walk along the country roads of his youth and wonder what lay beyond. He never lost this wanderlust and, every winter, he would leave Idaho to search out the warmer climate of Southern California, where he would work to support his family, and paint the country roads around Los Angeles. His paintings of country roads, and the things he saw along the way are included in this portion of the gallery. Some of the paintings here are from the late period of the mid 70's. But most are from the 90's when he painted the back roads of the Motherlode country of Northern California.
